Daily Calorie Need (Energy)......Formula

Daily calorie needs is needed for a person to consume the right amount of calorie to perform daily activities. Calorie need to increase while age is increasing (until age 18), in order to absorb nutrients for growing up stage and energy expenditure for certain activities.

  • Height increases, BMR increases, metabolism increases, more calorie needed.
  • Weight increases, BMR increases, metabolism increases, more calorie needed.
  • Age increase (from 1-18 year), more calorie needed.
  • Age increase (from 18-.....), metabolism decreases, less calorie needed.

Avtivity Level :

  • 1.2 (Sedentary) = No exercise / Desk job
  • 1.375 (Light active) = Light exercise/ 1-3 days per week sport
  • 1.55 (Moderate active) = Moderate exercise / 3-5 days per week sport
  • 1.725 (Very active) = Hard exercise /6-7 days per week sport
  • 1.9 (Extreme active) = Hard daily exercise / exercise or training 2x per day

(1) Calculate BMR.

(2) BMR x Activity level = Daily calorie need (kCal)
